How to identify broker, ClientID, SSL and authentication information for my cluster?
Please find our step-by-step series that walks through the entire HiveMQ Cloud Setup process, available here.
The following information can, for the most part, be configured or identified after logging into your HiveMQ Cloud account, and selecting ‘Manage cluster’.
From this cluster management page, you will be able to identify :
Broker Endpoint
Broker Port(s)
Broker Connection Type(s)
Note that there may be multiple ports and connection types specified here, depending on the configuration and tier of the Cloud platform that you are currently utilizing. By default, a TLS/SSL secured MQTT connection occurs at your personal broker address via port 8883.
Client ID - This is defined by the connecting client, and is not defined by the broker. Client permissions can be specified per client ID using ‘Access Management’ section of your HiveMQ Cloud Broker
SSL Version - By default, TLS 1.2 and 1.3 are enabled.
Username - This is defined using the ‘Access Management’ section of your HiveMQ Cloud Broker. By default, credentials are not required during connection.
Password - This is defined using the ‘Access Management’ section of your HiveMQ Cloud Broker. By default, credentials are not required during connection.
