Persistence directory growing in size

Persistence directory growing in size

Observation

The persistence directory grows at a slow, but steady rate of up to 300MB per day. This is not to be confused with regular usage fluctuations of the persistence within a 2GB range and can only
and is only the case if growth steadily rises over the span of at least a week.

Explanation

In some circumstances the data directory holding HiveMQ’s persistence can grow due to statistics
being logged within the Write Ahead Log. This is a known issue and will be addressed in the next
maintenance release of HiveMQ.

Affected versions

This affects HiveMQ versions 4.3 as well as HiveMQ versions in 4.4 released to date.
A fix will be included in HiveMQ 4.3.7 and 4.4.2
