What are “probe-user” Clients in HiveMQ Cloud Control center?
When monitoring your HiveMQ Cloud starter cluster, you may notice clients named probe-user in your client list or logs.
What are probe-user clients?
These are internal monitoring clients that HiveMQ Cloud automatically creates. Their purpose is to:
Continuously check the health of your cluster.
Verify availability and responsiveness of the broker.
Monitor overall performance to ensure stability.
Do probe-user clients affect my limits?
No.
Probe clients do not count against your concurrent connection limits.
Probe clients do not affect your message throughput or data usage.
Why are they needed?
Probe clients help HiveMQ proactively detect issues and ensure that your cluster is running reliably. They are part of HiveMQ Cloud’s managed monitoring and support process.
Can I remove them?
No — these clients are system-managed and required for service health monitoring. They will not interfere with your application clients.
